This program applies to the Elephant Hill Fire area and is funded for 2019 - 2021 with support from the Canadian Red Cross.
There is funding for seeding and invasive plant treatment on private land within the affected area, as well as on roadways within and adjacent to the fire
The TNIPMC is calling all Invasive Plant Warriors to pull together an army of volunteers to wage war on invasive plants. This challenge encourages community organizations and groups to become local stewards by controlling invasive plants at a high priority invasive plant site.The group that pulls the most invasive plants (by weight) will win a $250 honorarium that will go towards that groups programs and initiatives. The Weed Pull Challenge will run from June 1st to September 15th.
The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) offers a suite of weed control programs for landowners. These programs are designed to help residents protect their land values from the impacts of select invasive plants and noxious weeds. The programs can be combined to develop and administer effective and affordable weed management on private land. These programs are available to TNRD residents only.
